19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard surfaces
A comeback Daniil Medvedev won his initial trophy for 882 days with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a torrid period, achieving just one match at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.
The player's varied form on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in especial - led to him exiting of the top ten and finally splitting with long-time coach his previous coach.
Currently collaborating with his coach and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually improved in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested three-set win over challenger Moutet.
This represents his first championship following the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt after March of 2023.
Success also indicates Medvedev has achieved 21 titles at 21 distinct tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I'm at a event with my children simultaneously, so to secure a championship is really nice," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his last six finals, featuring in Halle in the past months.
His retrieving strategy and regular outbursts on the playing surface had prompted some to wonder if his ability to perform at the elite level was finished.
Yet the athlete has made changes in the past month, striving to advance forward and play positively, supported by an enhanced serving game.
The champion came back from a break down in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, taking 4 of the last five points to take the lead.
The pair exchanged service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, bidding for his initial tour victory, took control to push for a final set.
The opponent rescued 4 initial chances in a close deciding set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.
Suitably, the winner secured victory with a rally at the front of the court, with the Frenchman unable to handle a shot after over two and a half hours.
